HELP - Brake issues need to fix ASAP

I have searched and searched.. 1997 Tacoma 2wd no abs.

Rear brakes were not working at all, bled and still wouldnt work.

replaced load valve and bled using motive power bleeder.. brake pedal nice and hard. as soon as I start it, prakes go soft and nearly to the floor. they try to stop the rear wheels for a second when applied, and then nothing. Is it possible that the master cylinder needs bled? is there any trick to bleeding these "finicky" brakes? I went through a couple quarts of Brake fluid.

I started at the load valve, then rh rear, lh rear, rh front, lh front. bled at 20 psi until I got no air bubbles, then bled some more for good measure. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

B

Do you have pressure at the wheel cylinders when the pedal is depressed and the bleeder opened/closed?

Sounds like you have a failed master cylinder into the vacuum booster. Check the vacuum hose connection between the booster and the intake (if possible) to confirm presence of brake fluid.
