Warm & Cold Air Conditioner

2001 Highlander Ltd, 6 cyl.

Automatic Temperature Control

1. Drivers side blows warmer air than passenger side when ac is active. Driver's side feels like vent when passenger feels like AC.

2. Fan quit blowing for a couple weeks even though indicated bars on display could be changed from 1 to all bars showing. THEN after a good bump on RR tracks, the blower started working again....

If this is a digital system is there a reset for the system.

Good Question.... anyone know if there is a reset for the AC on a 2001 Highlander, v6 with automatic temperature control.

Check that link - the air/heat/fan controls are a known problem on some highlanders. Even though yours is auto control it is still same basic switches that control heat air and fan.

I checked all of that. Mine doesn't have the middle knob. Wiring is different. I've taken the whole thing apart and nothing appears to be out of place.

I'm still amazed that I seem to be the only person with cold passenger & hot driver air blowing simultaneously. I'll probably end up purchasing the part which I've located for about $600. I can put it in myself and save the dealership charges.

I just seems logical that if it will blow cold on one side of the car, it shouldn't be that hard to make it blow cold on both sides.
