Front Bumper Damage - Help With Removal

Hi All,

The family and I just got back from the Sierra mountains this past weekend and got caught in a snow storm. We ended up sliding our 2008 Highlander Sport into a truck with a long tow hitch. It punched a hole into our front bumper and crushed the bottom grill. I'm looking into getting quotes from the auto body shops, but also looking into other options. I may try to get a new front bumper cover and remove/replace myself. Anyone have the PDF of the service manual on how to remove the front bumper?

This was the first time driving in the snow with our Highlander. It handled OK in the snow, but there were a few times where we were sliding a bit. I definitely need to look into getting a winter set of tires. Anyone have 17" alloy wheels from the Base model Highlander for sale?

Thanks,

jpags

The fog light bezels are separate from the bumper, so assuming they are not damaged, be sure to take them off of the old bumper and reuse them. The run around $60 each here in Canada (I believe around $40 in the US).

Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad everyone is OK.

Hey All,

Thanks for the info. It looks like the front bumper cover is easy to remove/replace. Now the hard part is finding one...

Here is a picture of the damage:

Sorry to dig up an old thread - but I thought I'd try searching instead of just posting up a thread without trying.

Long story short, the wife hit the corner brick of the house trying to pull into the garage. I would like to find out how to get the front bumper cover off so I can either take it and have it painted or try and find a new one. I noticed there was a PDF that was passed on here - would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction for that?

Thanks!
