Sway bar drop?

I've removed my sway bar to replace my bushings and now it won't line up. I've just recently installed a lift and was thinking...if I get some 1" plate and mount between the mount brackets and the mounting point, would it allow more room to fully install it?

Has anyone ever done this? It seems logical, like a diff drop.

The brackets holding the sway bar won't line up or where the bar hooks onto the tie rods?

It's like it's too short now. Put it in the brackets and it won't reach the endlinks. Put the endlinks in it, and it won't reach the brackets.

How much of a lift did you install? Did you try to reinstall it while the truck was on the ground?

I ended up with about a 2.5" lift, as best I can figure. I haven't gotten a decent measurement of a stock ride height aside from a '98 model that's got a lot of miles. Yes, it was on the ground. I changed the CV boots out a while back with some parts house boots and now they're almost notched in two and have less than 300 miles on them. I'll get my front end alignment and when I change the boots, or new a axles, I'll reinstall the sway bar when the coils aren't in.

Im surprised that the lift kit dident come with spacers to properly align the sway bar mounting bracketry. Or did it?

Lift kits usually don't I think.

I compiled the lift from various parts, but I've never seen a kit that's had a sway spacer. Maybe they should.

I got some fabricated at work today. 1.5" square tubing the same length as the bracket. Was gonna do it with 1" plate, but the square tubing was much easier. I'll see how it goes when I mount them.

What kit did you get that had them?

I've installed my redneck sway bar spacers and they aren't too bad. The guess on the bolt length came up about 3mm short. So I tightened the crap out of the them and they're only 1 thread short of making a full nut. I left them unpainted for a trail fit and run. Works fine, but there is little clearance next to the boot on the R&P. Before I remove them to paint, I'm going to jack up the front end so that I can get a full downward movement of all suspension components and watch for any play in anything, as well as watch for the boots againt the sway bar.

I tried to turn them so that the square tubing sits square and looks straight, but then the sway bar wouldn't line up right in the mount.
