Cigarette Lighter Short-Wacky Serious Problems...HELP!

2005 Tundra Limited, 24k miles

Plugged in a back massager into cigarette lighter. Heard buzzing. Immediately reset clock. Nav began acting erratically, radio, after driving would start sounding more "tinnier", auto-slow down while going down steep hills DISAPPEARED, battery went dead after several months. Cigarette lighter glows lightly but wouldn't even set a piece of lint on fire...The truck is SUPER clean (ie: no erosion at battery terminals). Starts strong, radio is booming, etc, but after driving the above happens. Was told the wires are possibly getting hotter creating these malfunctions, which is why they get worse after driving it any distance. Note: the back massager is now completely dead.

ALL fuses checked, all OK. Being these issues are in all different areas...what do I need? Toyota refuses to pull out cigarette lighter & trace the wires & won't do anything b/c "the truck isn't throwing any codes".

Was told by an independent that a "breakout box" was needed, but he did not have one.

Any suggestions on how to trace. I am figuring to start tracing behind the cigarette lighter and maybe a wiring harness was fried??

Thank you.

I'd start with not using the back massager any more.

Wow

Aren't you clever. F off. A bit obtuse to be on a forum, don't ya think? You must be a Toyota dealer. Hope this happens to you...but when you're driving on an Interstate and the entire car shuts down. Fiery crash...yeah, would love it.

Gee, SALTY DOG,

I thought this was a HELP forum, not a smartass forum.

Because you're old & have nothing to offer means you can insult a "newbie"?

Either offer help or shut up. You obviously are useless so, shoo, go away.

This falls under the "don't dish it out if you can't take it" theory.

Oh, you can report me to your mommie, too.
