I have a 2002 Toyota Camry. My check in light has been going on and off for months. Sometimes it stays on and sometimes it goes off and comes back on in some days and sometimes months. It's time for emissions and the check engine light is on is there anything I can do to get it to pass emissions? Also the cat has already been replaced once by Toyota and the car has 185k miles on it! HELP!

Unhook the battery for 10mins it will reset the ecu.
Otherwise have it hooked up to a scanner and see what code it is throwing.

There is more than one on the car. There is 2 more i believe in the engine bay area. Could be one of them.

I suspect it could. There has been some rattling noise near the timing belt which it is not the timing belt. How can I get the light to stay off until the driving cycle is complete?

unhook the battery for about 10mins, it will reset everything (write down your radio presets etc) then hook it back up. the light should stay out for awhile longer.

I also found some cat converter cleaner called Cataclean. Have you heard of it? I have seen some pretty good reviews for it mixed with techron.

I was just telling him how to clear the code so the light goes out. Either way the problem has to be fixed.
