No, the cars are being unboxed and prepp'ed for delivery to customers. There were still more LFAs that were in the box and not unboxed yet. Apparently, those would be revealed in the part 2 of his article.

The camera guy is flipside who is a moderator on clubelexus. He is lucky enough to have had been in the LFA thousands of times and several times hot laps with Scott Pruett.

Pretty neat.

5W-50 Mobil 1 oil. Wow. Goes to show how much Toyota wants to protect the engine from wear via oil shearing (and thinning at the high temperatures the pistons make) at high RPM. There's no point in filling it with "energy conserving" oil since the owners aren't going to be conserving much at all.

I would expect nothing less than a 50 weight oil for an engine that fuel cuts at 9500rpm.

Yeah, I exactly thought the samething. 5W-50 is extremely heavy motor oil that as far as I know is used in trucks and big displacement engines.

I don't think most of these owners will take their baby to the limit much knowing their "trophy" car is so rare.

More LFA unboxing galore coming soon.

That is so awesome. Even being a part of the whole unboxing an prepping process seems exciting.

The car really looks good in black. It hides the stupid giant black grates on the front and rear. The profile shot of that black one is sweet... and I really like the red / black interior!

I'd drive the wheels off mine. I don't like investors. You buy a car to enjoy it, so that's exactly what I'd do.

It'd be at the track every weekend.

Buying a car like this and not driving the living crap out of it is a pure poser puss move.

I'll try to remember this when you ask to borrow my LFA

I wonder if the heavy oil will negatively affect the car's throttle response in any way.

How would that be an issue?? The prototypes already are using the same mobil oil. The throttle response is one of the leading things that LFA is becoming famous for that no other engine except Porsche Carrera GT offers that same razor sharp throttle response.
